Reporting directly to the Vice President, Supply Chain, this position will provide leadership and strategic vision to the organization. The successful candidate will bring logistics and transportation management experience to the company and will effectively communicate and foster growth among the executive team and logistics workers. This is a vital leadership role that will drive results, spur growth, and increase the overall efficiency within the organization and premiere customer satisfaction. This position has several direct reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the facilities operate in full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations ensuring all employees are held accountable for our safety and environmental systems.
  • Ensure company policies and values are implemented and maintained throughout the organization and all legal requirements are met.
  • Create positive change and drive a culture with clear objectives and sustain a continuous improvement environment.
  • Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the company.
  • Develop and communicate the strategic direction which aligns with priorities of the business and develop metrics and goals that closely align with this strategy.
  • Assist the executive team members in growing and sustaining an industry leading organization.
  • Drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective working closely with the Executive Team.
  • Streamline the order process working closely with the production and sales teams.
  • Maintain strong relations with rail and trucking carriers while maintaining national and international shipping legislation compliance.
  • Set KPIs for the logistics team and hold the team accountable for meeting those targets.
  • Ensure milestones and performance metrics are being met.
  • Drive the communication and implementation of the strategic growth strategies and processes.
  • Work with the senior management team on budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, implementing and rolling out plans, internal infrastructures, reporting systems and company policies all designed to foster growth, profitability, and efficiencies within the company.
  • Forge strategic partnerships and relationships with customers, vendors, and all other professional business relationships.

Your Profile:

  • Diploma or degree in logistics or supply chain or equivalency in related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven, progressive logistics executive leadership and strategy experience.
  • Excellent communicator with all levels of the organization. Insightful, self-aware, and able to listen to employees and integrate feedback into the operations.  Strong belief in the continuous improvement.
  • Strategic thinker capable of implementing innovative ideas that advance company success. A true “player-coach” willing to roll-up their sleeves as necessary to get the work done.
  • Enthusiastic team leader with a proven ability to build a strong team of direct reports and to actively develop the team’s potential through coaching and effective performance management.
  • Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for translating quantitative and qualitative data into actionable plans. A strong financial acumen is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills including planning, prioritizing, and delegating.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work within Canada at the time of applying for the position.

Compensation:

  • This is a salary position in the range of $120,000 to $160,000 depending on experience plus an annual bonus and relocation assistance,
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision care and medical benefits along with vacation and defined benefit pension plan with CAAT.
