We are looking for a pulp machine superintendent to join our team. Candidates must have previous experience in a kraft manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will ensure the safe and efficient operations of the department and its approximately thirty employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations ensuring all employees are held accountable for our safety and environmental systems.
  • Ensure company policies and values are implemented and maintained throughout the organization and all legal requirements are met.
  • Oversee production processes to optimize efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Lead strategic planning and implement continuous process improvements.
  • Implement operational excellence practices and monitor KPIs like downtime, production loss, and mill efficiency.
  • Participate in the department operating budgeting process,
  • Work closely with other operating and maintenance departments,
  • Candidates must have strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and organizational skills,
  • Candidates should have strong computer skills including experience with MS Office.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred or at least 5 years of experience in a kraft mill department such as digester, bleach or pulp machine.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising employees in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent communicator, insightful, self-aware, and able to listen to employees and integrate feedback into the operations. Strong belief in continuous improvement and the ability to understand market trends and drive business decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for translating quantitative and qualitative data into actionable plans. A strong financial acumen is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills including planning, prioritizing, and delegating.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work within Canada at the time of applying for the position.

Compensation:

  • This is a salary position in the range of $100,000 to $135,000 depending upon experience plus an annual bonus and relocation assistance.
