We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Superintendent to lead our maintenance operations across the site for an existing vacancy. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to oversee a diverse team responsible for ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability of industrial equipment and infrastructure. As a key leader, you will drive maintenance strategies and foster a culture of continuous improvement to support manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the maintenance team in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of all planned and unplanned work.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in all maintenance activities, including pressure vessels, electrical safety, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by using lean tools and KPIs to drive performance.
  • Develop and mentor maintenance leaders and skilled trades, fostering technical growth and strong frontline leadership.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance personnel in relation to maintaining an efficient maintenance system.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools to optimize equipment uptime.
  • Ensure effective utilization of CMMS and accurate reporting systems related to work order, purchase requisitions and schedules.
  • Foster a culture of leadership by supervising staff performance, providing coaching, training on industrial maintenance best practices and promoting teamwork.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical background such as a red seal trade certificate.
  • 5+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in industrial manufacturing facility; pulp and paper experience would be an asset.
  • Proven management experience in industrial maintenance environments with strong supervisory skills and a proven history of delivering improved asset reliability, cost savings, and uptime along with the ability to motivate staff toward continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance systems and predictive technologies.
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment with strong understanding of collective agreements.
  • Demonstrated leadership in continuous improvement, lean maintenance, or Six Sigma programs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills for clear reporting, team coordination and safety documentation.

Compensation:

  • This is a salary position in the range of $120,000 to $140,000 depending upon experience plus an annual bonus.
  • Comprehensive relocation, medical, dental, vision care and medical benefits along with vacation and defined benefit pension plan with CAAT.
