The Newsmill Shift Superintendent will provide leadership and support in the management of shift performance in the Newsmill operations. This position works shift work, two dayshifts, followed by two nightshifts and four days off. Each shift is twelve hours.

 

Responsibilities:

  • You will monitor and provide support for safety, environment, product quality and productivity while ensuring that budgeted safety, cost, production and quality targets are satisfied.
  • You will monitor mill processes to ensure compliance with both Company and Legislative standards.
  • Work closely with operating and maintenance departments prioritizing needs and coordinating repairs.

Your profile:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required, preference given to candidates with a post-secondary diploma or degree.
  • At least 3 years of previous leadership experience and sound decision-making abilities.
  • The ideal candidate would possess previous experience working in a unionized industrial facility.
  • Proficient analytical skills required as well as a strong background in MS Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance priorities that meet short and long-term objectives; uses organized and efficient work methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required, including an ability to work collaboratively within a fast paced and structured environment.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work in Canada at the time of applying for the position.

Compensation:

  • This is a salary position plus an annual bonus and relocation assistance,
